AMP lockup on offline laptop
« on: August 29, 2017, 06:34:22 PM »

Hey folks,
I've been doing some work on the church AMP file configs at home on my laptop in offline mode (with the USB dongle, no audio i/o) and sometimes I'll go to stop the engine after it's been running idly awhile, or even start it sometimes after it's been shut down awhile, and the mouse will start flickering and AMP will become unresponsive, can't even close it without killing it in Task Manager. Sometimes I'll get an error window with something like:
"Access violation at address 6F436E6F. Read of address 6F436E6F"

Once I close it out and restart it, it works fine.
Any ideas why this might be?

It's never happened on the church PC, only on my Inspiron and Acer netbook at home.
AMPHost-ASIO-0-9-70 with AMPGUI-0-9-279.

Hi Jeff,

Hmm, does it do that after you have done any specific function in the GUI?  That address I do not believe is actually in AMP code.

We have been doing a lot of work in terms of closing up a few stability issues, so I would be curious to have you try 0.9.73 when we publish that, which should be within the week hopefully.

Hi Bob,
It seems to only do it if it's been sitting awhile (a day or part of, like while I'm at work) and I go to stop or start the host. That address was only for one of the laptops I was playing with it on (I think the netbook), I don't recall the Inspiron giving me the message.

I'll play around with it a bit some more and see if I can draw any conclusions.
